Rules for posting content on www.devhunt.io

To provide a safe and responsible environment for the users of www.devhunt.io and to comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA), we have prepared guidelines for publishing content on our platform. If you post content through the platform, we expect you to comply with them. The relevant provisions on how we deal with the publication of unauthorized content can also be found in our Terms and Conditions.

Prohibited content

We care about the safety and comfort of our users, so through our service, we do not allow the sharing of information and content:

  • of an unlawful nature or content that is offensive or promotes violence, intimidation, or threats against others;
  • containing erroneous, abusive, or discriminatory information;
  • that incites violence;
  • that may mislead;
  • used for unauthorized advertising, promotional, or marketing activity, in particular posting advertisements or selling and promoting products, services, projects, or fundraising;
  • which incite hatred based on gender, sexual orientation, national, ethnic, racial, or religious differences or based on lack of religiousness, or praise such hatred;
  • that insult a group of people or individuals because of their gender, sexual orientation, national, ethnic, racial, or religious affiliation or because of lack thereof;
  • of a discriminatory nature based on age, gender, socioeconomic status, nationality, disability, union membership, or political beliefs;
  • which defame or insult any third party;
  • which violate the personal rights of any third party;
  • which violate the prevailing legal order or good morals in any other way.

Moderation of content

Compliance with the Digital Services Act (DSA) is our priority. As part of our compliance with the DSA guidelines, we monitor activity and content posted on our Service to ensure security, compliance with the law, and protection of users. The Terms and Conditions of our Service do not allow users to publish certain content, including unauthorized content. We manually monitor content posted within our Service to detect prohibited content. We act quickly to remove such content and ensure a safe environment for all users.

If prohibited content is detected, it may be removed or disabled. We may also take other actions with respect to your content, your account, or your use of the platform. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information.

Reporting illegal content

In accordance with Article 16 of the DSA, any user or entity may notify us of content they consider to be illegal. To submit a report, please email us at privacy@devhunt.io with the following information:

  • Personal Information: Name/Organization; Email Address; Phone number (optional);
  • Description of Violation: Briefly describe why you believe the content violates DSA rules. List specifically the content or activities that violate DSA regulations.
  • Links to Content: Please provide links to specific content you believe violates DSA rules. Paste links to websites, social media posts, or other online content here.
  • Evidence: If you have any evidence (e.g., screenshots, documents) that supports the violation, please attach it here.

Our team reviews all reports to verify whether the above guidelines have been violated. You may file a complaint for violation of your rights or interests in accordance with DSA regulations.

Complaint handling and appeals

If we take a decision to remove or restrict your content, or to suspend or terminate your account, you will be notified with a clear statement of reasons. In accordance with Article 20 of the DSA, you have the right to submit a complaint against such a decision within six months of being informed. To submit a complaint, contact us at privacy@devhunt.io.

We will process complaints in a timely, non-discriminatory, diligent, and non-arbitrary manner and inform you of the outcome without undue delay.

Out-of-court dispute settlement

If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer the dispute to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under Article 21 of the DSA. More information about available dispute settlement bodies can be found on the European Commission's DSA transparency website.

Recommending content

We recommend content containing relevant job ads and offers you might find interesting. We only use the criteria you have previously indicated and selected in your service account for this purpose, i.e.

  • Your account profile and preferences,
  • Your browsing history and job searches.

You can modify or reset your recommendation preferences at any time through your account settings.

Transparency

In accordance with Articles 15 and 24 of the DSA, we are committed to publishing annual transparency reports covering content moderation activities, the number of reports received, and actions taken. Reports will be made publicly available on our website.
