What shipped

New

  • A new visual system across the app. DevHunt now uses IBM Plex Sans and Space Grotesk, a navy dark theme with a matching light mode, a restyled header and footer, and full-width introductions on browse pages.
  • Free tier. Companies can now stay on a permanent free plan (1 active post); Starter gained direct chat. Every "create vacancy" entry point respects your publish quota, with a clear upgrade dialog instead of a dead end.
  • Pricing page, rebuilt. The page now includes a billing-period switch, plan cards, pay-as-you-go purchases, the launch offer, and common questions. Actions change according to the visitor's account state.
  • Richer cards everywhere. Company cards show open-roles and team stats (open roles link straight to that company's jobs), a branded banner, and a clickable website; candidate cards now show salary and hourly-rate expectations — including in the applicants list and pipeline board.
  • Conversation details panel. A collapsible side panel next to every chat: company and vacancy context for both sides, a shared-contact card for recruiters once the candidate shares it, and a match-score breakdown for candidates. Resizable on desktop, a slide-over on mobile.
  • Consent at registration. Sign-up now asks for explicit agreement to the Terms and Privacy Policy — enforced for both e-mail and OAuth registration.
  • Redesigned login & registration. A two-column layout with a promo panel, tab switching, and LinkedIn sign-in.

Improved

  • Messages, redesigned end to end. Conversations have new message bubbles, date dividers, replies, reactions, empty states, and a new composer in both themes. System events appear as clear cards with Accept and Decline actions inside the thread. Shared CVs show the file name and 30-day expiry, conversation rows show the current contact status, and candidates can open a detailed match explanation from the side panel.
  • Recruiters always see a condensed, anonymity-safe candidate summary in the details rail (position, seniority, experience, skills, languages, expectations) — identity stays gated until the candidate shares it.
  • Welcome messages render as a compact context card with a linked vacancy chip.

Fixed

  • Privacy: contact sharing is strictly per-conversation. Sharing contacts in one conversation no longer reveals anything in any other conversation — each chat checks its own share state and fails closed.
  • Privacy: chat search respects anonymity. Search results no longer expose a candidate's real name or photo in conversations where contacts haven't been shared.
  • Boost duration copy corrected: a boost promotes a vacancy for 5 days.
  • Long file names in CV cards are middle-truncated instead of wrapping across lines.
  • Missing content pages return a real 404.

Under the hood

  • Chat theme rewritten in TypeScript. The embedded chat UI moved from a legacy template theme to a typed, componentized theme — the foundation that made the whole messaging redesign possible.
  • The design system uses shared tokens for colour, typography, corner radius, and motion instead of separate styles on every page.
  • Two automated code-health batches, including sign-in error-code mapping coverage.
